 Tazeem Abbas - Chair

I am an experienced accountant and board member, having worked across education, housing, and our family’s tourism business in Cumbria. Coming to farming later in life, I’ve discovered the calm of working with sheep and cattle. I believe we must create more opportunities for young people and vulnerable adults to learn through constructive outdoor activity such as farming.

John Whittle - Trustee

My working years were entirely in education, I was the leader of two comprehensive schools for 17 years. I retired in 2004 determined to remain engaged as a volunteer. I have lived in Cumbria since 1989 and was determined to 'put something back'.

I am a strong believer in the importance of outdoor activity and the role that can play in helping individuals reach their full potential – leading to better mental wellbeing and also physical health.  The prospect of being involved in that work and helping to grow the charity is exciting, and something that I think I would enjoy.

Julia Aglionby - Treasurer

I am Susan's daughter and live with my family at Susan's Farm's Armathwaite base. I look after the cattle and sheep there at the weekends. My day jobs are as a land agent, running the Foundation for Common Land and a Professor in Practice at University of Cumbria.

Claire Lynn - Trustee

I believe in the important role that charities have in providing different and broader experiences for individuals and I have found over the course of my career a disconnect between pressures of modern living and the importance of reconnecting people to the natural/ rural environment, particularly for individuals currently struggling with their mental wellbeing. I have been involved in several similar projects/charities which have promoted gardening, agriculture and farming as a mechanism to give people a broad experience to enable their wellbeing
