Vacancies at susan's farm

Community engagement and events officer

Susan’s Farm charity is looking to recruit for a new role, aiming to consolidate existing relationships and then enhance and develop our profile within the community. This new position has two main strands:

  • Community engagement: Working in the community, networking, developing new relationships and enhancing existing ones. The successful person needs to be able to tell the story of the farm, giving a voice to all those who benefit from the farm whilst raising our profile with those who do not yet work with us. We want someone who can generate fresh interest and engagement in what we are doing, with the aim of developing effective, mutually beneficial relationships going forward.
  • Organising and delivering community events, including Open Farm Sunday: Working with volunteers, organising and supporting them delivering events. The successful candidate will need to be able to relate to a wide range of people, have a good eye for detail, and be flexible in terms of working hours.

It is expected that this job will also have elements of fundraising in it, both the on-going organisation of merchandise such as tote bags, pencils and clothing etc., but also the gathering of evidence of the impact of the farm on beneficiaries, that will contribute to future funding applications.

This job is a part-time appointment, will require some evening and weekend working and will inevitably have some times that are busier than others. It is expected to average out at 4 hours per week over a working year.

This position is subject to a DBS and a successful reference.

The salary is likely to be £12 per hour.

Please contact Helen at helen@susansfarm.co.uk if you wish to discuss this position further or make an appointment to look around the farm.
