Our prices, effective from 1st January 2024, are for a group (up to a maximum of 30 primary aged children or 15 secondary or post-16 aged students. There is an additional charge per pupil for larger groups). 

For a 2 hour group visit, the cost is £120 + VAT . This is our most popular option (please check to see if your 2 hour visit can qualify for a FREE visit)

For a 3 hour group visit, the cost is £175 + VAT.

For a full day group visit, the cost is £285 + VAT ; a two course organic lunch, which we can provide, is an additional £3.00 + VAT per pupil and £3.50 + VAT for over 16s.

UPDATE: There are no more free visits available at the Houghton site until Jan 2025.

Free visits for pond dipping, lifecycles and hedgerows at Aglionby are still available in 2024.

Each year we have a number of FREE 2 hour school visits available for under 16s at both the Houghton farm and Aglionby wetlands.

Our FREE 2 hour school visits are supported through Natural England's Countryside Stewardship Scheme - Higher Tier.

This enables and encourages us to farm with nature and also look after the woodland areas on the farm, the coppiced woodland along the River Eden and the grazed wetland areas.

The Stewardship Scheme also supports our education work both through the classroom that Natural England funded at Houghton and the annual payments for our educational and care farming visits. More information on Natural England's work can found here.
