Food Market volunteers needed

Are you passionate about organic food? Do you enjoy chatting to people? Do you have, or want to gain experience in a face-to-face sales / food environment? Then join our volunteer Food Markets Team! 

Our fantastic food market volunteers run a stall selling Susan’s Farm organic beef and lamb, and other local produce at Houghton Farmers’ Market on the third Sunday of every month, and occasionally travel to other markets at Rheged and Hutton-in-the-Forest. All proceeds from sales go towards supporting the charity. 

We are currently looking for people to join our Food Markets Team. You don’t need to commit to attending every market - all you need is an interest in organic food and good people skills to engage with our customers. Volunteers are vital to our education work, our farming, our meat sales and our community events. In 2023 Susan’s Farm volunteers’ immense contribution to our work was recognised when they won the King's Award for Voluntary Service.
