Susan’s Farm is looking for an energetic and creative individual with experience of working with young people, with a further education qualification and who shares our vision of using purposeful outdoor activity to engage with young people, building their self-esteem and confidence.
Susan’s Farm is a small, registered charity whose activities focus on Educational Visits for school and community groups, working with those with long term mental health support needs and Alternative Provision for those young people who need a different learning environment.
The Farm, based at Houghton outside Carlisle, is looking for an energetic creative person to work within a small staff team, leading on our alternative provision service and providing engaging and stimulating outdoor activities. We work in small groups supporting students with behavioural needs, as well as autism and other conditions. Our team plan the provision around the farming calendar and have created a range of activities to engage students with farming, nature, and the outdoors. This is an opportunity to work with young people in various and innovative ways, building their self-esteem and confidence.

Volunteers are sought to help with selling Susan's Farm produce at Farmers' Markets, events and pop up stalls. If you like people and you are enthusiastic about "you are what you eat ", the importance of eating locally sourced organic produce and enjoy cooking this could be the ideal volunteering opportunity for you!

Susan’s Farm is seeking to appoint additional Trustees, who share the passion and commitment of the Farm in fulfilling its purposes and ambitions. We want to increase the overall number of Trustees and are looking for energetic people with various skills and experience to work alongside our existing trustees. We particularly want to fill our knowledge and skills gaps regarding fundraising, marketing, HR, financial management and championing or managing community-based youth work. We are also keen to find out more about alternative skills and experiences you may have to offer.
